Unemployment figures dropping rapidly in certain areas a little bit
Even the staunchest Globalizierungsgegner’s (opponent of globalization) head must be spinning at the stunning progress being made these days in certain areas of international employment opportunities. In just a matter of weeks, unemployed former cab driver and German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer has found a zumutbare (reasonable) job as guest professor at Harvard.
And not only that, his former Vorgesetzter (boss) Gerhard Schröder has also managed to land a Zweitjob (second job) as consultant at the Swiss Publishing House Ringier. This will keep him busy in the afternoon after those rather monotonous mornings of counting money at Gasprom (see “Three weeks”).
Yup, the economy is finally picking up again. In the USA, Switzerland and Russia, I mean.
Sources close to Fischer (geographically speaking) say he had repeatedly failed at landing a better position at one of the more renowned German educational institutions here but understands that one must be flexible and mobile these days and after sleeping over it a night or two settled for Harvard after all.
He could not be immediately reached for comment as he is currently working on his first lecture: “The Creeping Threat of Globalization to World Elitist Educational Institutions Everywhere”.
Endlich geht es aufwärts!
