Vacation in Iran rocks!
The Spiegel reports that a native vacationer and a French sailor will be put on trail in Iran tomorrow for crossing into Iranian territory while sailing through the Straits of Hormuz. But don’t worry about it or anything yuz guyz because the German Foreign Ministry has let it be known that the native vacationer will be represented by an Iranian lawyer “well-versed in cases like these”.
Apparently this guy hired the Frenchman to take him out fishing or something. Okay. I went fishing once or twice, too (I think). And, well, sure it was a blast and all that. But like, well, fishing in (or really near) Iran? I mean, aren’t the Straits of Hormuz that area (or one of them) that’s being hotly disputed between the Emirates and Iran or something? Naaa, can’t be.
And what the hell, poo-poo just happens sometimes… when you’re on vacation. Just go and ask former German diplomat Jürgen Chrobog, pal, he’ll tell you all about it.
Aber überlaufen ist diese Gegend wirklich nicht.
