68er soon 68
In a startling new revelation had/made by Hermann himself, it won't be all too long before the 68er will be 68 themselves. Huh? Let me explain.
When a native talks about a 68er here, he's referring to someone who belongs to (belonged to?) the so-called "68 generation". You know, as in 1968. No, the year. Here are two of their poster children:
This is the generation that changed the world forever or something. They started a "movement" called the "peace movement" and threw rocks at cops and the girls were more feminine back then (or fem-something). Everybody wore mini-skirts and had beards, though not necessarily in that order. They all went to Woodstock and a lot of them never came back (know what I'm sayin?). They single-handedly stopped the war in Vietnam and ousted the Shah of Iran and personally shook hands with Yasir Arafat. Twice. And that's not all. But that's more than enough.
At any rate, Hermann and I have no idea if a 68er turning 68 actually means anything. It just felt like the right thing to say right now.
