1 - The uppermost rules of the German army are:
1. Always keep your gun clean for inspection, throw any practice ammo away.
2. Watch out for live ammunition, it could mess up your rifle and cost the tax needed to finance the fabulous social system, soon helping the army of elders who built the country up.
3. On the battlefield watch out for American soldiers, they might bring something in to eat, maybe ice cream, that the Spies (Hauptfeld) forgot to deliver with his big 5 ton truck.
4. Be careful to evade millitary service, you might just land in a boot camp somewhere far out in the German outbacks.
5. Let the foreign grunts die and do the dirty work in Irak and Afghanistan, ich bin ein Berliner.

Nothing learned out of history, voting for commies (last Sunday with Links Ruck), no readiness to fight for freedom or less taxation or less representation.

What does this country stand for in 2008? Oktoberfest and Fasching?

2 - Anonymous, as far as I can tell, this country (and there are others like it) stands for me, myself and I. Obsessed with finding consensus, Germans easily find one these days; me first – und nach mir die Sintflut = Why should I fight for someone/something which doesn't directly benefit me?
